Shire Horse Public House

The Group was formed in January 2013 to initiate people into the pleasures of playing cribbage, one of the oldest card games which is suitable for 2, 3 or 4 players.

Said to have been created by the English poet Sir John Suckling in the early 17th century, crib has survived virtually unchanged and is played throughout the English speaking world and certainly in many of our public houses. Like many card games, to win needs a combination of luck and skill, and will test and improve the simple mental arithmetic powers of players.

We meet at the Shire Horse Public House on the A4 at Littlewick Green on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Both new and experienced players are welcome to join us for an afternoon of fun competition.
